Lucknow, July 16 (HS). The state unit of CPI (ML) has demanded a high level judicial investigation into the allegations of murder of a woman after gang rape in Churua village of Bachhrawan police station area in Raebareli district, burning the body by pouring petrol on it at night by the police and destroying evidence.
An investigation team of the party visited the spot. Releasing the investigation report on Tuesday, state secretary Sudhakar Yadav said that the incident took place on the night of July 11. The woman, seriously injured and unconscious, was admitted to the hospital in Mohanlalganj late on the night of July 11. From here, she was advised to be taken to the medical college on the morning of July 13. She was brought back to Bachhrawan town and taken to a local nursing home. The doctor declared her dead at the gate and sent her back. The woman was a native of Uttarakhand. She had a love marriage with Rinku Singh.
According to the report, her husband and friends tried to bury her, but after strong protests from the villagers, the police made a Panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem. It is not known what injuries are mentioned in the Panchnama, but the bite marks on the cheeks of the deceased were testimony to what had happened to her.
When the body was brought back from the postmortem, the villagers said that the body would be buried in the morning because the police was trying to cover up the matter. Instead of collecting all the evidence present at the scene, they were trying to clean it up and hide the truth. That is why the police did not mention any possibility of rape in the Panchnama and for this reason the doctors who conducted the postmortem also did not do any tests on it.
According to the postmortem report, he died due to a hammer-like weapon on his temple and coma caused by internal bleeding. Earlier, signs of a liquor party, liquor bottles, glasses, cigarettes, packing papers of food ordered from outside and leftover food in plates were found at home. The police did not call any forensic team. Due to all these apprehensions, the villagers were requesting high officials, social organizations and journalists for help and to cremate the dead body in the morning.
It is alleged that Bachhrawan police surrounded the body from all sides in the dark of the night and burnt it by pouring petrol on it. There was no disturbance of any kind on the spot, but everyone was saddened by this painful murder of a woman and was angry with the careless action of the police in investigating the truth. There was no presence of any senior officer on the spot.
According to the report, this was a case of gang rape and murder. All evidence of this was destroyed under the supervision of Bachhrawan police. The needle of suspicion points towards the woman's lover husband, who is suspected of being the organizer of the gang rape and murder.
The villagers held a huge demonstration and a candle march on July 15 against the incident. CPI (ML) also protested at the district headquarters. The party's investigation team was led by state committee member and AITU leader Vijay Vidrohi.
