Sri Lanka's Mathisha Pathirana has suffered a shoulder injury and Dilshan Madushanka has suffered a hamstring injury due to which they have been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India. Earlier, Sri Lanka's Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara were also ruled out due to injuries.
Chameera and Tushara did not play in the T20 series against India as well. The Sri Lankan team manager said that uncapped Mohammed Siraj has been included in the Sri Lankan ODI squad. Pathirana has suffered a shoulder injury, the same problem also occurred in the 2023 World Cup, due to which Pathirana will be rested in the ODI series. Pathirana was injured while fielding in the third T20 in Pallakal, due to which Pathirana could not bowl in the third T20. Dilshan Madushanka suffered a muscle strain during practice. Madushanka played only one match against India in T20. Sri Lanka have lost their last 10 matches against India in all formats. The three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will start today. The first match will be played today at 2:30 pm. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will return to the field from the three-match ODI series. Kohli and Rohit will take the field to play for the first time after the T20 World Cup 2024.
