According to the Henley Private Wealth Migration Report, the number of millionaires in India has increased by 85 percent between 2013 and 2023. Millionaire means someone whose net worth is $1 million i.e. Rs 8,35,76,500 or more. According to the data, between 2013 and 2023, the number of millionaires in three countries has increased faster than India. These include Vietnam, China and Mauritius. However, the population of Vietnam and Mauritius is much less than that of India. The population of Vietnam is 9.82 crores and the population of Mauritius is only 12.6 lakhs.
Between 2013 and 2023, the number of millionaires in Vietnam has increased by 98 percent. Under the China Plus One policy, many companies have moved out of China and Vietnam has benefited from this. China's millionaire population has increased by 92 percent in the last ten years, while the Indian Ocean island nation Mauritius has increased by 87 percent. India is fourth in this list with 85%. The United Arab Emirates is fifth with 77 percent, followed by Malta (74%) in sixth, Monaco (68%) in seventh, Singapore (64%) in eighth, the US (62%) in ninth and New Zealand (48%) in tenth place.
American Dominance
In the last ten years, the millionaire population in Taiwan has increased by 42% while in Switzerland their population has increased by 38%. The number of millionaires is 35% in Australia, 35% in Saudi Arabia, 32% in Portugal, 29% in Canada, 28% in South Korea, 16% in Italy, 15% in Germany, 14% in France, 14% in Greece and Spain. It has increased by six percent. If we look at the list of the world's top rich people, America dominates it. The top 10 includes nine of America's richest people. Only France's Bernard Arnault is in third place in this list. Elon Musk is in first place and Jeff Bezos is in second place.
