A resolution was presented before the US Parliament condemning the attacks on Hindu temples in America and Hinduphobia. The proposal presented by Shri Thanedar, an Indian-origin Congressman, has been sent to a committee of the House for review. It is noteworthy that even before this, MPs of Indian origin had written a letter to the Justice Department seeking answers on the attacks on Hindu temples. The resolution states that the Hindu American community has made significant contributions to America's progress and the class faces discrimination. Hindu American students are teased in schools and colleges. They also have to face prejudice, hatred and crime. According to the FBI report on hate crimes, incidents of hate crimes against Hindus and attacks on temples have increased in America. Wrote a letter to the Justice Department
A few days earlier, on March 29, Indian American lawmakers Raja Krishnamurthy, Ro Khanna, Thanedar, Amy Bera and Pramila Jayapal had also written a letter to the US Justice Department seeking information on investigation into the incidents of attacks on Hindu temples. The letter said that attacks on temples have taken place in states from New York to California. This has spread fear and panic among the Hindu community living in America. The MPs expressed displeasure over the progress in the investigation into attacks on temples and asked what the investigating agencies were doing to solve such cases. What steps are being taken?
