Bangkok: Thailand, a landlocked country in central Southeast Asia, has been elected by its parliament as the new prime minister, Pitongatran Shinawatra, just 37 years old. She is the daughter of Thai political giant Thaksin Shinawatra. If elected, she will become the country's youngest prime minister. She received 51 percent of the votes in the Thai parliament.

He will now take over the position previously held by his wife and his father.

She will be the second woman Prime Minister of the country after Yingluck Shinawatra, who was the country's first Prime Minister. It is noteworthy that Cheongsuk Shivapatra is the deity of Pitongatran. Thus, Thailand has got three Prime Ministers from the same family.

It is worth noting that Thailand has a very important place in South East Asia. In the east it touches Laos Cambodia. In the north, the border with China is only 500 km away from the northern part of the country. There are mountains in between and dense forests on the mountains. In the west, its border touches Myanmar for a long time. Its long southern belt touches the South China Sea and the Bay of Bengal. In the far south, it touches Malaysia. Thus, it is very important for India from a strategic point of view.

Indian culture is also very prevalent here. Ayutthaya (Ayodhya) is the name of its ancient capital located northeast of Bangkok. Rama is the only title of its king. The current king's title is Rama-26th. It is home to the world's oldest single dynasty monarchy. It has cultural ties with India.

Earlier, Hinduism was Vaishnavism in Thailand. Then Buddhism spread there. The stories of Ramayana are as popular here as they are in Malaysia and Indonesia. Although both these countries are Muslim, the story of Ramayana is very popular there. Similarly, in Thailand, despite being a Buddhist religion, the stories of Ramayana are popular. They worship Ganesha. And so they worship elephants. Among them too, the light pink elephant of Alblumi is considered worshipable. He does not even have a job.

The most important thing is that Indian culture spread here not by sword but by religion and love. Many Indians, especially Tamils and some Bengalis, have lived in Thailand for centuries.
