Gorakhpur, 26 August (HS). A three-day free large laser surgery camp was inaugurated on Monday at Mahayogi Gorakhnath Hospital of Guru Gorakhnath Institute of Medical Sciences located at Arogyadham Balapar till 28 August. International cancer surgeon and laparoscopic and kidney specialist Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari and senior surgeon (stomach, intestine, gall bladder, piles and cancer specialist) Dr. Rekha Maheshwari examined the patients and gave them necessary advice. About 65 patients were consulted on the first day of the camp. Free laser surgery will be done on 27 and 28 August for the patients identified for surgery, while the consultation round will also continue on these two days.
Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari, Director of Birla Group of Hospitals, who has done 3 lakh 80 thousand surgeries in his 40 years of practice, said that through this camp, for the first time in Purvanchal, free treatment of serious diseases like stomach, intestine, liver, gall bladder, piles and cancer is being provided through laser surgery without incision, without unconsciousness and by local anesthesia. Generally, laser surgery costs lakhs, whereas here everything is being done for free. This is a great initiative by Guru Gorakshanath Institute of Medical Sciences. Such free camps will be organized here in the last week of every month. He said that with the new technology, patients will not have much pain in laser surgery and it will take only half an hour.
Along with giving advice to the patients, Dr. Maheshwari also made them aware about prevention of diseases. He said that the initial symptoms of every disease are seen in our body itself. The situation becomes serious when we ignore the initial symptoms. Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari said that a major reason for cancer, kidney and gall bladder stones and liver diseases in Purvanchal is the consumption of adulterated edible oils. On the first day of the camp, more patients suffering from kidney related diseases came. Dr. Maheshwari explained to such patients that they should avoid consuming salt, pickles and papad.
In the camp, Dr. Sanjay Maheshwari consulted male patients and Dr. Rekha Maheshwari, who has a global identity in the field of surgery, consulted female patients. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University Major General Dr. Atul Vajpayee, Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rao and Hospital Director Colonel Dr. Rajesh Bahl welcomed Dr. Maheshwari.
