In the process of extracting rice from paddy, first the paddy is boiled along with the husk and then the rice is dried and separated. This rice is called USA rice. This rice contains almost all the beneficial elements that are present in brown rice. This rice is transparent, takes less time to cook and is also easily digestible. Usna rice or parboiled rice, also known as Usna rice in West Bengal and Ponni rice in South Indian states, is partially pre-cooked rice.
