Lucknow, September 26 (HS). To promote sports at the school level in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has partnered with leading football coaching platform SuperCoach, which is launching a grassroots football development program in the state under 'The Game Changer' project. The partnership with this platform developed by Supersports International aims to identify talent in football in primary schools, focus on coach education and player development. This initiative will work towards making Uttar Pradesh a center of excellence for football in India. It will have a direct impact on more than 27,000 primary schools and about 1.35 crore children in the state.
Under the project, PE teachers will be trained to use the SuperCoach app to ensure a standardized and organized approach to football development across the state. By setting up football development centers in primary schools, the project aims to reach 1.35 crore children annually, providing equal opportunities to players from urban and rural areas. Deepak Kumar, President, School Games Federation of India and Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said that this partnership with SuperCoach is completely in sync with our mission to promote sports and physical education in schools. We are committed to providing children with the tools and opportunities that will help them excel both on and off the field.
SuperCoach Country Manager Jonas Olsson said that we are extremely excited to partner with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to bring the SuperCoach app to schools across the state. This project will provide an opportunity for the youth to develop skills, confidence and passion for the game, not just football. We believe that with the right coaching and support, we can help India's next generation of footballers reach their full potential. On this occasion, Jonas Olsson presented the SuperCoach jersey to Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar.
–With the help of the platform, legendary footballers have got recognition
SuperCoach is developed by Supersports International. The platform is designed to make football coaching easy and accessible at all levels, from grassroots programs to top academies. The SuperCoach app takes inspiration from Sweden's IF Brommapojkarna (BP) Academy, one of the largest talent development academies in Europe. IF Brommapojkarna has helped shape the careers of international footballers such as Dejan Kulusevski, Albin Ekdal, John Guidetti, Viktor Gyokeres and Lukas Bergwall. The app provides coaches with over 1,200 football drills, adapted for all age groups and aims to simplify football coaching from the grassroots level to professional academies.
