Varanasi, July 12 (HS). District Magistrate S.Rajalingam inspected the ropeway construction work near Church Square on Friday and gave necessary instructions to the officials of the implementing agency, Jalkal, Varanasi Development Authority and Police Department. He directed the ACP and the concerned police station in-charge to ensure smooth functioning of the traffic system.
The District Magistrate directed the Jalkal Department and Electricity Department to shift the existing utilities within the ropeway corridor before the onset of Sawan to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the festival. He also asked the VDA to provide the necessary land for the construction of towers T23 and T25 so that the ropeway construction work can be completed without any delay.
