Balrampur, June 13 (HS). The bodies of the devotees who died in the Jammu terror attack reached their village in the district on Wednesday midnight amid tight security. As soon as the bodies arrived, the family members started crying. The officials consoled them and got the last rites done with respect in the night itself. The administration has given Rs. 10 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each to the injured.
The last rites of 15 year old girl Ruby and 10 year old boy Anurag Verma, who were killed in the Jammu attack, were performed by their family members in the presence of the administration. The bodies of both the deceased were brought from Gonda railway station to their village Balrampur late Wednesday night under tight security. Anurag's last rites were performed in Nayanagar Vishnupur village the same night. Ruby's last rites were performed in Kandhari village on Thursday at 7 am. Thousands of people were present at the time of the last rites of both. There is mourning in the family. The family members are inconsolable.
It is noteworthy that on Sunday, June 9, a young girl Ruby Verma from Balrampur Sadar Kandbhari village and 10-year-old Anurag from local village Nayanagar Vishunpur of Uttaraula tehsil died in the terrorist attack on a bus of pilgrims in Shivkhodi in Jammu. Apart from this, 12 people including Santosh Kumar, Sharda Devi, Vimla Devi, Shiva, Geeta Devi and Rajat Ram were injured. They have been brought to Balrampur and are undergoing treatment at Balrampur Joint Hospital.
District Magistrate Arvind Singh expressed grief over the incident and said that Rs 10 lakh each has been provided to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each has been provided to the injured. The district administration is with the families and all possible help will be provided to them.
