Jaipur, 28 February (HS). The Special Court II of the metropolis for women harassment and dowry cases has sentenced the accused Paramjit Singh Panwar to ten years imprisonment for raping a three-month pregnant married woman. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of six thousand rupees on the accused. Presiding Officer Asha Choudhary said in her order that the accused has caused lifelong mental damage to the pregnant woman by forcibly raping her. In such a situation, leniency cannot be adopted towards the accused.
On behalf of the prosecution, the Special Public Prosecutor told the court that the victim had lodged a report at Vishwakarma police station on June 27, 2020. The report said that her husband works as a marble joiner. Her husband had gone to Kishangarh to work with a contractor and she was alone at home. She was eating dinner at around 12 noon. Meanwhile, the accused, an acquaintance of her husband, came there and locked the latch of the room from inside and tied her hands and feet. After this the accused raped her. She told the accused that she was pregnant, but the accused raped her and ran away. Acting on the report, the police arrested the accused on July 1, 2020 and presented the charge sheet in the court. It was said on behalf of the accused that he has been forcibly implicated in the case. He harbors a grudge against the victim's husband because he works with her. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court punished the accused with punishment and fine.
