Varanasi, 04 July (HS). State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that all the District Agriculture Officers should keep doing intensive checking in their respective districts as per the instructions of the District Magistrate. So that along with black marketing, the sellers cannot sell fertilizers at higher prices.

The Agriculture Minister was holding a review meeting with departmental officials and in-charges of Krishi Vigyan Kendra here on Thursday. The Agriculture Minister stressed on providing cluster work and training to farmers after timely selection in Namami Gange Yojana being run in Varanasi and Chandauli. So that farmers can get more profit with less cost.

Instructing to promote organic farming, the Agriculture Minister said that by conducting soil testing in the fields, farmers should also be informed about which nutrients are lacking in their fields. In Kharif crop-2024, he directed to lift and distribute 100% of the allocation of different types of seeds such as paddy, tur, urad, moong etc. Under the Millets Scheme, he asked to promote the cultivation of millets by ensuring the availability of seeds like maize, jowar millet, rangi, sawa etc.

In the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the districts where the work of Aadhaar feeding and e-KYC is pending were also asked to complete it. Officers from Varanasi, Ghazipur, Chandauli, District Agriculture Officer, Agriculture Protection Officer, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Land Conservation Officer, Varanasi Division, Varanasi, Fertilizer Analyst, Soil Survey Officer etc. were present in the meeting.
