New Delhi, March 01 (Hindustan Reporter) The Supreme Court once again refused to hear Asaram's bail plea. A bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna said that if the trial court does not hear his appeal against the sentence expeditiously, he can file a petition in the Rajasthan High Court for suspension of the sentence.
Asaram has been in jail for almost 10 years and his bail application has been rejected more than a dozen times. Asaram was arrested in 2013 on charges of sexual harassment. On August 20, 2013, a case of sexual abuse was registered against him in the Jodhpur ashram. Apart from this, two sisters from Surat had also accused him of rape in the ashram in 2001.
