The US space agency has given a great news about Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams. After about 55 days in space, Sunita Williams and her partner Butch Wilmore are just a few steps away from landing on Earth.

The new information from NASA has increased the hopes of a successful return of Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore to Earth. It is believed that in a few days NASA can decide the date of the mission to bring both of them back. However, many astronauts including Sunita Williams are currently in the International Space Station. Recently, NASA also released a video message regarding the Paris Olympics. In which all the astronauts were seen carrying the electronic version of the Olympic torch.

On June 5, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore left for the International Space Station on a Starliner aircraft. Both were scheduled to land on June 13 to complete their eight-day mission. But due to a technical fault in the Starliner aircraft, their return became difficult. Ultimately, NASA was forced to cancel the return mission of both.

NASA gave good news to both the astronauts

NASA conducted a hot-fire test of the Starliner aircraft duct on July 27. Giving information about the results later, NASA said that all the thrusters and chambers tested have returned to the initial level based on pressure. Apart from this, a team of engineers will also investigate the leakage of helium gas supply in the Starliner aircraft. Meanwhile, the necessary margin for the return of both the astronauts was also confirmed. Just an eight-day mission… waiting for months

Sunita Williams of Indian origin was selected as a NASA astronaut in 1998. Born in America in 1965, Sunita Williams' father Deepak Pandya was an Indian who moved to America from Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 1958. This was not the first time that Sunita Williams went on a mission. She has already traveled to space twice. Sunita has previously gone to space in 2006 and 2012.

However, this time its mission was only for eight days but now it has become about 55 days. Now it remains to be seen how many more days we will have to wait for Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore to return home?
