Lucknow, September 03 (HS). Mahfooz's mother felt a lump in the stomach of her three-month-old daughter from Pata Nala area of Chowk area of Lucknow since childhood which was gradually growing. The worried parents showed her to a nearby doctor, who immediately sent her to the medical college. Here in the pediatric surgery department, Dr. JD Rawat and Dr. Anand Pandey examined the child and found that there was a large tumor in her tummy which required immediate surgery.
Dr. Anand said that the operation was very complicated due to the young age of the girl and the huge size of the tumor. Therefore, a lot of caution was required in the operation. During the operation, it was found that the tumor was almost in the entire stomach and it had pressed all the other organs of the child. The left kidney of the girl had pressed down a lot due to the tumor. The tumor was successfully removed by a careful operation. The weight of the child was about 5 kg and the weight of the tumor was about one and a half kg. After the operation, the child was kept in the pediatric department for ventilator under the supervision of Dr. Shalini Tripathi for four days. The child is now healthy and the parents are taking him home with great happiness.
Dr Rawat said that the team that performed the operation included Dr Anand Pandey, Dr Nirpeksh Tyagi, Dr Satish Verma from the anesthesia department and nurse Vandana.
