Students march in support of Palestine in Bangladesh universities

Dhaka, May 7 (HS). Protests in support of Palestine have now reached the universities of Bangladesh via the universities of America. Students belonging to the student wing of Bangladesh's ruling party marched in universities across the country on Monday demanding an end to the Israel-Hamas war and the creation of an independent Palestine.

Bangladesh Chhatra League activists marched carrying Bangladeshi and Palestinian flags while raising anti-Israel slogans on the campus of Dhaka University. They were carrying banners reading Free Palestine, Stop Genocide. The student group said it organized the demonstrations in solidarity with protests in the US and growing anger against Israeli military action in Gaza. He called for action against genocide and human rights violations.

Meanwhile, Columbia University in the US has postponed the main university-level event scheduled for May 15 in view of the protests. Instead, it has been decided to organize programs on a small scale. Officials at the Ivy League school in Manhattan said that based on feedback from students, we have decided to focus on our class days and graduation ceremonies.
