Stock Market Today: Indian stock markets continued to rally on strong performance in the corporate results season as global challenges eased. After six trading sessions following stock specific rise, Sensex has again crossed the level of 74 thousand.
It is noteworthy that in view of the Lok Sabha elections and geopolitical uncertainties, experts are advising investors to invest with caution.
Sensex today rose 411.27 points to 74059.89 after opening with a gain of 190.02 points. At 10.48 am it was trading at 73789.11 with a gain of 140.75 points. While Nifty was trading at 22375.75, up 39.25 points after opening 53.40 points higher.
Profit booking in energy, oil and gas stocks
Profit booking was seen in energy and oil-gas stocks today. The S&P Energy index was trading 0.27 per cent lower due to increased selling in shares including Indian Oil, Reliance, Coal India, Petronet. Telecom index is making new records every day. In which the share of Bharti Airtel has again reached a new peak today.

Yesterday Dow Jones, Nasdaq, S&P 500 indices closed with a gain of more than 1 percent. In European markets, Frankfurt, Paris, FTSE 100 also improved by 1.50 percent. On the other hand, Asian markets are trading in the green zone.
203 shares at the top of the year
By 11.04 am, 203 shares on BSE Sensex hit 52-week high. 6 stocks hit 52-week low and 159 stocks hit lower circuit. Upper circuit was imposed in 272 shares. Out of total 3653 shares traded, 2271 shares were bullish and 1227 shares were bearish.
