Stock market crashed after reaching all-time high, Sensex-Nifty closed down, selling in these stocks

Stock Market Closing: The four-day continuous rise in the stock market has come to a halt today. Sensex and Nifty closed with a decline after reaching record highs in the afternoon trading session due to increased profit booking by investors.

Nifty 50 today after reaching a record high of 24174 finally closed 33.90 points lower at 2410.60. 26 stocks of Nifty 50 closed with gains and 24 stocks with losses, most stocks were under selling pressure. Sensex also closed 210.45 points lower at 79032.73 after reaching an all-time high of 79671.58. 20 stocks of Sensex closed in red.

Profit booking increased in banking stocks

Profit booking has increased after the spectacular rally in banking and financial stocks in the last few days. Indusind Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank fell up to 2.61 per cent, while BSE Bankex closed down 1.04 per cent.

Investors in midcap and smallcap can book profits by selling shares at higher prices. Today, the midcap index rose by 0.41 percent and the smallcap index rose by 0.56 percent. Overall, the market was bullish. 267 stocks reached the highest level of the year. Amidst the pressure of profit booking, investors' capital finally increased by 53 thousand crores.
