Sports: Champions Trophy to be played in February-March, PCB's clarification on hybrid model

Pakistan Cricket Board has selected Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi for next year's Champions Trophy. Amid speculation of a hybrid model to ensure India's participation, the PCB said that the tournament will be played in Pakistan and the event will be held in February-March 2025 next year. It is noteworthy that India has not yet given any confirmation regarding its participation and if the Indian Government does not get the approval then the ICC can use the hybrid model to play India's matches at a neutral venue. The ICC has also made it clear that there will be no pressure on any member country to violate its government's policy.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that we have sent the schedule of ICC Champions Trophy matches. The ICC Security Committee meeting was also good. He has reviewed all our arrangements and sent his report to the ICC. It is noteworthy that the Asia Cup played last year was played according to the hybrid model. India's matches were played in Sri Lanka.
