Ahmedabad: In the festive season that began today with Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, during Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali festivals, spending by customers through online and offline channels by retailers is estimated to increase by 25 per cent to Rs 4 lakh crore. According to retailers, sales of consumer durables, electronics, fashion-lifestyle grew by 15 to 20 per cent year-on-year during the Independence Day weekend and Onam festival in August. An increase of 23 to 25 percent was seen in sales on Onam festival in Kerala.

Consumer durables, electronics products, apparel, fashion-lifestyle, kitchen, appliances, beauty-personal products, jewellery, toys, gifting items and sweets are expected to generate new demand on a large scale during the festive season starting today. .
