Special Session: Special session of Parliament from Monday in the new building, some surprising bills are also likely to come.

New Delhi: A special session of Parliament will begin from Monday amid speculations that some surprising bills will be introduced. There will be a total of five meetings in this session. The special session will run from 18 to 22 September. Under the current system, Parliament meets only three times a year. Recently, the government had surprised all the political parties by announcing the calling of a special session of Parliament. The agenda released by the government includes discussion on Amrit Kal, celebrated in the country on the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence. Many other bills including the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners will also be introduced. In this session, Parliament will formally shift to the new building. The new Parliament building has already been inaugurated, but regular meetings will start from this session.

Actually, four bills are included in the government’s agenda, but there is speculation that the government may not bring some surprising bills. Perhaps this is the reason why the Congress Working Committee has publicly appealed to the government to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill. Obviously, if the government brings a bill like women’s reservation, Congress would want to take credit for it. It is another matter that a few days ago, when former Congress President Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there was no mention of women’s reservation in it.

Vice President hoisted the tricolor at the gate of the new Parliament House

This is being linked to the preparations before the start of the meeting in the new building. The Vice President described it as a historic moment and a milestone in the country’s development journey and said that India is witnessing an era of change. The world is fully recognizing India’s strength, potential and contribution. He said that today we are in such a time where we are giving such development and achievements which we had not even thought of in our dreams. Our ground reality is seen in the most positive light in the world today. On this occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, Congress Party leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, MPs of political parties and officials of both the houses were present.
