New Delhi, July 24 (HS). Dr. Tulia Aksan, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, met Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar at Parliament House on Wednesday.
According to the Vice President's Secretariat, the traditionally close and friendly relations between India and Tanzania were discussed, highlighting the importance of parliamentary exchanges in deepening ties between the two countries.
The Vice President congratulated the Guest Speaker on his election as President of IPU and called for greater participation of India in IPU and cooperation between the Indian Parliament and IPU.
