Meerut, 26 August (HS). The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with great pomp in Meerut. On Monday, temples were decorated with colorful lights and flowers. Devotees are visiting temples and worshiping Lord Krishna. Fairs are being organized at many places.

Temples in Meerut have been decorated with colourful lights and garlands on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami. Special decorations have been done at Augharnath Temple in Meerut Cantt. Laddu Gopal is being swung in a swing after dressing him in special clothes. The flower bungalow of Sri Radha-Krishna has been decorated with special flowers brought from Kolkata at Augharnath Temple. Ten artisans have been called from Vrindavan for the decoration of the temple. The decoration was completed by noon. The three routes leading to the temple have been decorated with colourful lights. There will be programs at the temple on Tuesday as well. Aarti, Panchamrit and Prasad distribution will take place at 11:30 in the night. Kanha will be swung in a silver swing. A fair has also been organised outside the temple.

Grand decorations have also been done in the Sri Krishna temple located in Thapar Nagar. The dress of Thakur ji has been specially prepared and brought from Vrindavan in the Sri Vaman Bhagwan temple located in Ganj Bazar Sadar. Aarti, Panchamrit and Prasad distribution will take place at midnight. A procession will start from the Sri Vaman Bhagwan temple. Shri Thakur ji's court has been set up in the temples. Preparations for the tableaus of Sri Krishna's birth have been made in many temples. An annual fair has been organized near the Santoshi Mata temple located in Saket. Due to this, traffic has also been diverted from Saket Marg. Grand tableaus of Sri Krishna-Radha are being decorated in this temple. Gol Mandir Jaydevi Nagar, Raj Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari temple located in Samrat Palace, Ajanta Colony Shiv Shaktidham temple, Radha-Krishna temple located in Nauchandi Compound etc. have been specially decorated on Sri Krishna Janmashtami.
