The Indian team is going to tour Sri Lanka soon, for which the team has been announced. After waiting for several days, the BCCI has finally announced the team. The teams for the ODI and T20 series are quite different. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who is often trolled after the announcement of the Indian team, has expressed displeasure over the team selection. Tharoor has objected to Sanju Samson not being included in the ODI series and Abhishek Sharma not being included in any team. Tharoor has raised questions on the selection made by the BCCI.
Tharoor raised questions on the selection of Team India
After the announcement of the Indian team, Shashi Tharoor posted on 'X' and wrote – The Indian team's tour of Sri Lanka this month is very interesting. But Sanju Samson, who scored a century in his last ODI match, has not been selected for the ODI series. Abhishek Sharma, who scored a century in the series against Zimbabwe, did not get a place in any team. Perhaps the success of the Indian team does not matter to the selectors. However, my best wishes are with the team.
Another shocking decision
Sanju Samson not being included in the ODI series and Abhishek Sharma not being included in any team is already shocking. On the other hand, head coach Gautam Gambhir and the selectors have jointly handed over the captaincy of the T20 team to Suryakumar Yadav. With Hardik Pandya emerging as a leader after the World Cup 2022, Indian cricket fans are shocked that he will not get the captaincy.
India's T20 squad: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Riyan Parag, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Khalil Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj.
ODI team: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Riyan Parag, Axar Patel, Khalil Ahmed, Harshit Rana.
