India's precious Ratan 'Ratan Tata' breathed his last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday night, 9 October. His demise is a big loss for the entire country. At the age of 86, he said goodbye to this world.
There is a wave of mourning across the country. Bollywood celebs are also mourning his demise. Ratan Tata was a great businessman and also believed in helping people. He also inspired the life of Bollywood's King Shahrukh Khan. In 2013, Shahrukh had expressed his opinion on Tata Group. He told how Ratan Tata inspired him.
Tata inspires
In an interview given to the media, Shahrukh Khan said that whenever I get a chance, I will play the role of RK of Tata Sons. I spend time with Krishnakumar. I love the way they talk, the way they think, see and see what changes in them. I go and K.V. I sit with Kamat and talk about ICICI. I see a very good, simple and normal person in him. But his vision is very powerful. His business approach is highly commendable. They think about everything. I get a lot of inspiration.
Shahrukh further said that they (Ambani, Birla, Tata) know that I am interested in a business which is beyond just profit. When I met him, he was also at that stage of his life when he was thinking about this kind of business. My father was a businessman, my mother was a businesswoman and they were incurring losses in their business. But I remember how enthusiastically he did this work. The reason was not to buy a big house and I realized that if the essence of making money is right, then business is great.
nano is a good idea
Shahrukh also mentioned Ratan Tata's Nano car. The actor said that you should have passion. You have to be a businessman like Walt Disney. Azim Premji is like this. Ratan Tata is also like him. These people are amazing people. I am too young to make any comment against him. But I know why they do business. I know that Nano was made with very good ideas. I don't know if this will work or not. But the reason it was created was very clear. The reason you run a business isn't business, it's passion and it's personal.
Learned to take risks from them
Shahrukh Khan told how he involves all these Sikhs in his work. Told him that whatever business I started, I started because I wanted to pursue things that I could no longer achieve. I have taken big risks and I have been successful. Like after the release of Baazigar, everyone told me that my career was over. My well-wishers told me that my career was over, you cannot become a hero again after killing a woman. But it was beneficial. In the long run, everything is sustainable if you stick with it.
