India and Pakistan are seen face to face before the Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan is hosting the Champions Trophy, but due to security reasons, Team India is not in the mood to tour Pakistan. Now former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has made a big claim and said that the Pakistan team has come to India many times despite 'threats'. He said that India is using security as an excuse.
Pakistan always takes the initiative
Many cricketers from the neighbouring country have been seen making statements about India's intention of not going to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, and now Shahid Afridi has also joined in. Afridi said something different.
Shahid Afridi's statement said, “We have gone to India many times in difficult circumstances. We got threats, yet we went to India. We will know their intentions. We have always supported India. We got threats. Pakistan Cricket Board and Government always take the initiative.”
Team India will not go to Pakistan?
If all the media reports that have come out so far are to be believed, it is coming to light that Team India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy due to security concerns. However, till now BCCI has not given any official update in this regard.
No update on hybrid model
Apart from this, there is no update regarding the hybrid model. Pakistan was also supposed to host the Asia Cup in 2023, but Team India played matches in Sri Lanka under the hybrid model instead of touring Pakistan. Now it will be interesting to see whether Team India plays matches under the hybrid model this time too or not. While only a few matches were played in Pakistan in the Asia Cup, most of the matches of the tournament were played in Sri Lanka, including the final and semi-finals.
