Ghaziabad, 24 May (HS). A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held in Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh. During the meeting, questions were asked regarding the action taken in relation to the decisions taken in the District Magistrate meeting. In which the District Magistrate took a strong class of the concerned departments for not completing the work of the decisions taken in the last meeting.
In the meeting, comparative analysis of road accidents in the district, updated comparative review of road accidents in the district, review of black spots, review of transformation actions, investigation of road accidents with three or more deaths and other points were discussed.
District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh directed to put up sign boards and write speed limit at a distance of 250 meters from the likely accident sites. He also directed to display signboards regarding zebra crossing, railings etc. properly.
The District Magistrate fixed a timeline for the officials to implement the decisions and take action in the last meeting to prevent road accidents on the areas prone to high accidents such as Ravali Road Muradnagar, Ganganahar Kanwar Patri Marg, Mussoorie, Wave City and Mohan Nagar Marg. Apart from this, NHAI officials were given 15 days to complete the work of railing and signage etc. at the identified black spots Manipal Hospital, Sundardeep College, Kaushik Dhaba Rasulpur Sikrod etc.
The district magistrate directed the Public Works Department / RRTS officers on the Delhi-Meerut road (State Highway 117) to immediately complete the work on the identified black spots.
Among the officials of various departments present in the meeting, some asked for seven days and some for ten days. The District Magistrate said that all the work should be completed within ten days. In the next meeting, the officials of the concerned departments will bring a complete description of the work done and a report with photos/videos of the work. DCP Traffic Virendra Kumar, DIOS Rajesh Shrivas, BSA Om Prakash Yadav and officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
