Sanjana's suicide for scholarship is the insensitivity of the government: SP

Jhansi, June 26 (HS). A delegation of Samajwadi Party reached the house of sportswoman Sanjana Kushwaha on Wednesday who committed suicide recently after not getting scholarship. The officials included in the delegation met the family members and expressed deep condolences and called this incident a sign of government's insensitivity. They have demanded impartial investigation of the entire case and strict action against the culprits. After meeting the District Magistrate, the entire delegation also addressed the journalists at the Circuit House.

Giving information in a press conference held at the Circuit House, former District Jail Minister of Samajwadi Party Shriram Pal, former MLA Shriram Kushwah, former MLA Deep Narayan Singh Yadav and Chitrakoot MLA Anil Pradhan said that Sanjana Kushwaha, a student living in Baratha village of Baragaon, had committed suicide after not getting scholarship. SP's National President Akhilesh Yadav had taken this matter seriously. On the instructions of the National President, a delegation of the party reached the house of the deceased girl today and took detailed information about the incident from the family members.

He said that the student committed suicide due to not getting scholarship. This is the insensitivity of the government. There is a fault in the system due to which the student had to take such a step as suicide. He said that the student was promising and talented. She has won many medals in many competitions. In javelin throw competition also she used to throw 38 meters long javelin. He said that the government should identify such talents and give them government help. He said in the suicide case that they met the District Magistrate and demanded impartial investigation in the whole case and action against the culprits. For this they also gave a memorandum to the District Magistrate. He has blamed the Social Welfare Department and bank employees in this case.

He said that Samajwadi Party will provide financial support to the girl's family, and a demand will be made to the government to provide financial assistance of ten lakh rupees and a job to the girl's family. The delegation said that this issue will also be raised by Samajwadi Party in the Assembly and Lok Sabha. During this, Brijendra Yadav Bhojla, Sitaram Kushwaha, Satish Jatriya, Arif Khan and other workers were also present.
