Mirzapur, 25 July (HS). A meeting of the district level committee of Food Safety and Drug Administration was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan. Assistant Commissioner (Food) Manjula Singh said that so far in the current financial session, 467 shops have been inspected by the Food Safety Department.
Assistant Commissioner (Food) said that samples of various food items were collected by raiding 260 shops. Cases were filed against 127 shopkeepers as their samples failed. In this session so far, a fine of Rs. 15,30,000 has been imposed on 51 shopkeepers.
The District Magistrate directed to inspect as many shops as possible in the Vindhyachal area and collect as many samples as possible. In view of the upcoming festival, he directed to start inspecting all the big sweet shops, khoya bhatti, dairy, oil etc. establishments from now itself.
