Sachin got another medal for India in Paralympics, won silver medal in shot put | News India

Sachin Khilari won the first medal for India on the seventh day of the Paris Paralympics. Sachin Sargerao Khilari won the silver medal in the men's F46 shot put event with a best throw of 16.32 meters. The 34-year-old player made the best throw in the second attempt. Sachin missed the gold medal by just 0.06 meters.

Sachin's first attempt was 14.72 meters, in the second attempt Sachin threw 16.32 meters. However, he did not manage to rise above this. Greg Stewart of Canada won the gold medal with the best throw of 16.38 meters. India's Mohammad Yasser finished eighth and Rohit Kumar ninth in this event.

In the shot put final, Sachin's first attempt was 14.72m, second attempt was 16.32m, third attempt was 16.15m, fourth attempt was 16.31m, fifth attempt was 16.03m and sixth (last) attempt was 15.95m. He also set a field record with a throw of 16.32m. This was India's 21st medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024.

Sachin won the gold medal in the men's shot put F46 event at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships with a best throw of 16.21m. He also competed at the 2024 World Para Athletics Championships, where he won the gold medal in the same event.

Sachin, a native of Sangli district of Maharashtra, met with an accident during his school days due to which his elbow muscles were torn. Despite several surgeries, he could not recover. It was not easy for Sachin to reach this position. He has also faced a lot of struggle.
