'Saare Jahan Se Accha…' echoed in the White House, guests ate the feast of Panipuri-Samosas

White House Events: India and Indians are being celebrated all over the world. However, Indian songs have also become more popular now and many big institutions are seen singing patriotic songs of India to represent patriotism towards India. For the second time in less than a year, India's patriotic song was played at the White House, the main residence of the US President.

The White House Marine Band played the Indian patriotic song 'Saare Jahan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara' for Asian Americans. Apart from this, Indian food was also served to the guests at the annual event, which included Golgappa, Samosa and Indian sweets. Earlier, this song was also played during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 June 2023. Indian-American community leader Ajay Jain Bhutoria said that this program reflects the strong US-India relations.

The event was held in celebration of the White House initiative and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris welcomed people to the annual event. The President had also invited Americans of Indian origin.

Indian-American leader Ajay Bhutoria, who attended the event, said, “It was a wonderful celebration in the Rose Garden of the White House. As soon as we reached the White House, the musicians welcomed us by playing the song 'Saare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara', which was amazing, proud and the best thing.

Desi dishes served:

At the reception, a variety of dishes including golgappas, which we call panipuri in Gujarat, samosas and Indian sweets, Indian street food were also served. Although this Panipuri was not as tasty as in India, bland with American flavor and differently spicy, but even abroad this Panipuri reminded me of the country.
