Rohit Sharma: The first ODI match between India and Sri Lanka ended in a tie. India needed just one run to win in the last 15 balls and had two wickets left. However, Sri Lanka snatched the match from India. First set batsman Shivam Dubey was out and on the next ball Arshdeep Singh was also out. Rohit Sharma also expressed his displeasure after the match was tied.
After the match, Rohit Sharma said, “We had a good start but wickets kept falling. But later KL Rahul and Akshar Patel brought the team back. But you have to score one run in 14 balls and if that doesn't happen then it's a pity. This was not a pitch where you start hitting shots as soon as you come.” The game was going both ways. I thought we were going to win, but we fell short by one run.
The Indian team remained in the match till the end, as the match progressed the pitch became slow. In such a situation KL Rahul and Akshar took the team out of trouble. After this Aslanka gave life to his team by taking two LBW outs in two balls.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. India got a target of 232 runs to win. The Indian team started well in chasing the target but the team came under pressure due to continuous fall of wickets. The Indian team was all out for 230 runs in 47.5 overs.
