Mirzapur, June 29 (HS). District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan reviewed the preparations for the upcoming flood in the Collectorate auditorium on Saturday. She said that in view of the floods in the coming days, model relief camps should be set up like model booths. All flood posts should be equipped with wireless facilities for immediate information. Chlorine tablets should be made available in sufficient quantities. Public address system should be installed in relief shelters.
The District Magistrate directed to put the employees on duty in the flood control room for eight hours in shifts. He directed the District Panchayat Raj Officer, Rural Development Department and Municipality and Panchayat to spray lime and ensure necessary arrangements so that infectious diseases can be prevented. The Deputy District Magistrate and Deputy Director Agriculture should jointly survey the affected fields. Establish human and animal assistance camps at three good places. Establish contact with local divers and sailors. Helipads should also be constructed during floods. Activate all relief camps as soon as waterlogging occurs. Lekhpals should be put on duty at the posts. Organize flood relief chaupal in every gram panchayat before the flood and count the animals in the flood affected areas. Also survey the kutcha and pucca houses. There should be no overloading on boats.
