Only a few days are left for the start of the 9th season of T20 World Cup 2024. After this, 20 teams will participate in this tournament, which will be jointly organized by America and West Indies. These teams have been divided into 4 groups of 5 each. The Indian team is in Group A. All the teams in the group will play 1-1 matches with the remaining 4 teams. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8. Also, the journey of the remaining 3 teams will end there.

The final will be played on May 29

The 8 teams will again be divided into 2 groups. Teams from both the groups will play against the remaining 3 teams. The top 2 teams from each group will enter the semi-finals. The winners of both the semi-finals will clash in the final on May 29. The final match of T20 World Cup 2024 will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

The match will be played on 9 grounds

All the matches of the tournament will be played on 9 grounds. Which will include 3 American and 6 West Indies grounds. 16 matches will be played at Grand Prairie Stadium in Lauderhill, Dallas and Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Also, 41 matches will be played in 6 different stadiums of West Indies. The semi-final matches will be played in Trinidad and Guyana.

All teams were divided into 4 groups

  • Group A: India, Pakistan, USA, Ireland, Canada.
  • Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman.
  • Group C: West Indies, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea.
  • Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Nepal.

The decision will be made through a super over

If any match is tied during the T20 World Cup 2024, a super over will be played. If the super over is also tied, then another super over will be played. This will happen until a winning team is found. Extra time is also available to complete all knockout matches in the semi-finals and final. A total of 250 minutes of extra time is available for both semi-finals. 60 minutes of extra time will be available at the end of the day's play for the first semi-final on June 26 and 190 minutes of extra time will be available on June 27. While June 30 is the reserve day for the final to be held on June 29.
