Moradabad, 26 August (HS). Investigation has begun in the incident of Kisan Express (13308) splitting into two parts near Seohara station and Raipur railway gate in Bijnor district of Moradabad Railway Division on Sunday morning. In Lucknow, members of the team of Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) under the Ministry of Railways collected information after investigation.
Divisional Railway Manager Rajkumar Singh told on Monday that Down Kisan Express train (13308) going from Firozpur to Dhanbad reaches Dhampur railway station at 2:22 am which reached at 3:35 am on Saturday night with a delay of 1:13 minutes. After this, it stopped for 3 minutes and left for Seohara station at 3:38. Before reaching Seohara station, the train was divided into two parts due to sudden breakage of coupling due to technical reasons near Raipur railway gate. The train had a total of 21 coaches including the guard. Eight of these coaches broke and reached railway station Seohara with power and the remaining 13 coaches were left standing on the railway track near Raipur village.
On receiving the news of this incident, there was a stir in the railway department till Baroda House. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in this accident and all the passengers remained safe. Railway department officials reached the spot with the technical team. After this, all the coaches which had stopped due to the coupling breaking near Raipur gate were pulled with power and taken to Seohara railway station. After connecting them to the coaches which had broken down and reached with the engine, Kisan Express was sent off from Seohara station after about three to four hours at 7:35 in the morning.
