sangareddy In an unusual incident, a 21-year-old man from Jogipet in Telangana’s Sangareddy district married a 22-year-old man from Chandur in Medak district. We call this unusual because the wedding took place when both were ‘high’ after a couple of drinks.

According to The Times of India, the two men met at a toddy shop in Dumapalpet village and became friends. They often met for drinks. On April 1, a 22-year-old auto driver tied a plate around the neck of a 21-year-old at a function at the Joginath Gutta temple. While the ceremony was taking place, they were completely intoxicated. After completing the wedding rituals, both the people went home.

A few days later, the man from Jogipet went to the auto driver’s house and told his parents about his marriage. He told the parents of the auto driver that he should be allowed to stay with their son and he has nowhere else to go. However, despite their efforts, the auto driver and his parents did not allow the Jogipet man to enter their house. After the argument, the person from Jogipet went to the police station to lodge a complaint. He also demanded an alimony of one lakh rupees from the family to stay out of his son’s life forever.

The matter came back later as the two mutually agreed not to pursue the matter with the police. “Families on both sides were threatened over the issue. They discussed it among themselves and resolved the issue,” said sub-inspector Mohammad Ghaus. Told TOI.

After negotiations, the Jogipeth man agreed to a one-time cash settlement of Rs 10,000 from the family of the auto driver. The break-up was formalized by the families of both the parties.
