In a bizarre development, two officers of the Madhya Pradesh Police – one deceased and one retired – were transferred by the Home Department, which later quashed the order calling it a ‘typographic error’.

An error was detected in the transfer/deployment order under which the Home Department transferred 167 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs).

In the list containing the names of officers, caretaker DSP Jitendra Yadav has been transferred from 26th Battalion Guna to Gwalior. Yadav died of Kovid-19 about six months ago.

Similarly, Shashibhushan Singh Raghuvanshi, who retired about one and a half years ago, has been transferred from SDOP Kailaras in Morena district to the 18th Battalion of Shivpuri.

When the matter was brought to the notice of the Home Department, Under Secretary Annu Bhalvi issued an order to cancel both the transfers stating a typographical error.
