Students clash over serving of meat at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Several students were injured in the fight. On Sunday afternoon, on the day of Ram Navami, there was a verbal dispute between the ABVP-Left students over serving non-veg food, which led to a fight. Left students alleged that ABVP was behind the violence. The injured students were admitted to the hospital.


Left student groups have accused the ABVP of obstructing the serving of meat at the Kaveri hostel on the campus. The violence is being told on the day of Ram Navami. The ABVP also alleged that Left student organizations did not allow the worship.



Delhi Police said that at present the situation is peaceful. “Both the student groups are protesting peacefully. The police said that appropriate legal action would be taken on receipt of the complaint.
