New Delhi A massive fire broke out in the fields in Karnal, Haryana and the wheat crop spread over 5 km was destroyed. The incident is from Kachhwa village of Karnal on Sunday.


According to a report in Hindustan Times, the wheat crop was burnt to ashes and farmers said that the crop and fodder destroyed in the fire was worth Rs 1 crore.


The farmers, as quoted by news agency ANI, said they tried their best to save the burning wheat crop but the wind was “very strong”.


“This ruined the production of 5 km of finished wheat. We tried our best to save it but the wind was very strong,” said a farmer. “The firefighters were too late; They should be near the village,” said the farmer.
