Meghalaya: CBI may soon take action against Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik. The Central Government has given permission to the CBI to investigate. This case is related to the offer of bribe to him while he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir administration had recommended a CBI probe for a fair investigation into the matter.

The CBI will investigate corruption in awarding contracts for the Jammu and Kashmir government’s Employees Health Care Insurance Scheme to Reliance General Insurance Corporation. The CBI is also likely to investigate corruption in awarding civil works contract for Kiru Hydroelectric Project to a private firm.

300 crore bribe offer

In October 2018, when he was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, he canceled a group health insurance agreement with Reliance General Insurance for employees suspected of misconduct.
