Chandigan, April 10 (H.S.). Congress party has elected its state president in Punjab. Congress has appointed party leader Amarinder Singh Brar (Raja Waring) as the President of Punjab Congress. This information was given in a letter issued in this regard by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal on Saturday.

Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the post of state president after the defeat of Congress in Punjab elections. The post was vacant since then.

Apart from this, Congress has appointed Bharat Bhushan Ashu as working president of Punjab Congress Committee. Also, Pratap Singh Bajwa has been appointed as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), while Dr. Raj Kumar has been made the deputy CLP leader.

Promise to take forward party ideology: Brar

On being made the President of Punjab Congress, Amarinder Singh Brar tweeted, “I am grateful to Congress President Sonia Gandhi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji for giving me the responsibility of Punjab Congress President. I promise to work with every worker and leader of the party to strengthen the party and take forward the ideology.”
