Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said that the BJP is trying to destroy the economy of Jammu and Kashmir for the last three years while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is watching.
Mufti was talking to media persons after visiting the recently martyred Jammu and Kashmir policeman’s house in Handwara, where she offered condolences to the family of the slain cop.
The former chief minister alleged that the ruling BJP for the last three years has created a “terrible atmosphere” here as employees are being fired from their jobs. On the contrary, outsiders are being re-employed, he said. “All this shows that when the prime minister is watching a spectacle, an attempt is being made to destroy our economy,” Mufti said.
He said truth-tellers were being imprisoned and cited the arrests of journalists Sajjad Gul and Fahad Shah as examples. “Ordinary people can’t even talk here,” the PDP chief said.
“If the situation in Kashmir is peaceful then why is the number of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir not decreasing with every passing day,” Mufti said. Peaceful” Absolutely.
The former J&K CM said, “Dangerous laws including PSA and UAPA are being used here. But I want to tell the central government that it is not going to last long.”
