Covid 19 Vaccine: The Union Health Ministry has announced a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to all persons above the age of 18 years from April 10. Anyone over the age of 18 who has been taking a second dose for nine months will be eligible for a booster dose. Meanwhile, Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech have made big announcements to reduce the cost of vaccines.

Adar Poonawalla, CEO, Serum Institute of India, tweeted: “We are happy to announce that after consultations with the Central Government, SII has reduced the cost of COVISHIELD Vaccine for private hospitals from Rs 600 to Rs 225 per Decided to dose. We welcome the Centre’s decision to provide booster doses for all 18+ age groups,” Poonawalla said in his tweet.

Bharat Biotech has also reduced the prices of the vaccine. Suchitra Ella, Joint Managing Director, Bharat Hitech has given this information. “We have decided to reduce the cost of Covaxin vaccine from Rs 1,200 to Rs 225 for private hospitals.


Currently, no one in the country is allowed to give separate doses of the COVID vaccine, which means they have to take a booster dose from the same company as the first and second doses.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said this on Twitter. ‘The fight against Corona will be stronger now. Citizens above 18 years of age will be able to receive booster doses from April 10 at private centres. All citizens who have received a second dose of the vaccine within nine months will be eligible.
