Making the fight against Corona more aggressive, the government has announced a booster dose for all people above 18 years of age across the country from April 10. People will be able to take booster dose by going to private hospitals. However, there should be a gap of 9 months between the second and third booster doses of the vaccine. The Centre’s Ministry of Health announced that from April 10, people over 18 will be able to visit private immunization centers and take a precautionary dose, ie, a booster dose.

In the last 24 hours, 1109 new cases were reported in the country. Till now the total number of infected was 4,30,33,067. The death toll rose to 5,21,573 with 43 more deaths. The number of active cases stood at 11,492. In the last 24 hours, 1213 more patients were cured. A total of 4,25,00,002 patients were cured after treatment.

First dose given to 96% of people over the age of 15

The government said that 96 per cent of children over the age of 15 have been given the first dose of the vaccine. While 83 percent children have been given both doses of the vaccine. The first dose of the vaccine is given to 45% of people between the ages of 12 and 14.

Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute, the maker of Covishield, said that the booster dose of Covishield is Rs. 600. However, tax has to be paid separately for this. The cost of booster dose is Rs. 900 can stay.
