The Income Tax Department has attached around 41 properties of Yashwant Jadhav, Shiv Sena leader and chairman of the Standing Committee of BMC. The seized property also includes a plot worth Rs 5 crore in Bandra. This also includes 31 flats in Byculla and two plots in Bandra worth Rs 5 crore. Jadhav has been charged with tax evasion. This is the biggest action taken by the Income Tax Department in the last one year. According to department sources, the seized property is registered in the name of Yashwant Jadhav, his family members and close relatives. The hotel has been named after Sunanda Jadhav, mother of Shiv Sena MLA and Jadhav’s wife Yamini Jadhav.
The accomplices of the accused did not come to record the statement
IT had sent close aides like Shiv Sena leaders Vilas Mohit and Vineet Jadhav to record his statement. But none of them were present. According to sources, Vilas Mohit was looking after the work of Yashwant Jadhav’s BMC. So Vineet Jadhav is the director of Bimal Agarwal’s company Newshawk Multimedia Pvt Ltd.
Summons to Sanjay Raut in phone tipping case
Colaba Police has summoned Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, accused of phone tapping in Goa Assembly elections, to record his statement in the case. In fact, Sanjay Raut had targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the phones of opposition leaders are being tapped where elections are being held. Raut said there were reports of phone tapping during the assembly elections in Goa. Sanjay Raut named IPS officer Rashmi Shukla in his tweet. Rashmi Shukla has been accused of tapping the phones of Maharashtra leaders when she was heading the state’s intelligence unit. Cases are registered against him in Mumbai and Pune.
