People above 18 years of age will now be given a precautionary dose (3rd dose) at private immunization centers from Sunday, April 10, 2022. all people over the age of 18 who second dose 9 months after taking it, they will be eligible for the precautionary dose. This facility will be available at all private immunization centers.

The government has said that in addition to the free immunization program for the first and second doses, the program to provide preventive doses to health care workers, frontline workers and 60+ population at government immunization centers will continue and be intensified. Currently, around 96% of the population above 15 years of age in the country have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while about 83% of the 15+ population has received both. According to government data, more than 24 million preventive doses have been given to healthcare workers, frontline workers and the population over the age of 60. About 45% of people 12 to 14 years of age have also received the first dose.
