Bhopal, April 7 (H.S.). Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday launched ‘Chief Minister Electricity Bills Mein Relief Scheme 2022’ at Slimnabad, near Katni. Under this scheme, it has been announced to waive off electricity bills of Rs 6400 crore of 88 lakh consumers who were not deposited during the Corona period.

At the launch of the scheme, Chief Minister Chouhan said that the income of the common man has been affected due to the odd circumstances of lockdown during the Corona period. Keeping this in mind, we have postponed the recovery of the amount of principal dues and surcharge of 88 lakh domestic consumers till August 31, 2020. He said that the state is now recovering from Corona and the economy is getting back to normal, but in view of the difficulty being faced by the consumers in paying the deferred amount, the state government has decided to stop the domestic connection till 31 August 2020. In this situation, it has been decided to waive the amount of deferred payment.

He said that the consumers who have made payments against the deferred amount under the resolution plan 2021 are also being adjusted in the upcoming bills. Under this scheme, 88 lakh domestic consumers of the state will get relief of Rs 6400 crore. He said that eligible consumers should take advantage of “Chief Minister Electricity Bills Relief Scheme 2022” by applying in the camp organized at their distribution center.

On this occasion, State Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar distributed ‘Chief Minister Electricity Bills Mein Relief Scheme 2022’ certificates to eligible consumers in a program organized in Datia. Similarly, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang in Bhopal, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia in Guna, Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary in Raisen, Mineral Resources Minister Brijendra Pratap Singh in Ashoknagar, Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel in Harda, Minister of State Suresh in Shivpuri. In Dhakad, Morena, MP Urja Vikas Nigam President Girraj Dandotia and regional MLAs in other districts distributed certificates of “Chief Minister Electricity Bills Relief Scheme 2022” to eligible consumers.

Under the Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions of Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, camps were organized by organizing programs at 362 distribution centers.

Relief of more than 33 crore 15 lakhs to 18 thousand 587 consumers in the central sector on the first day itself

Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has said that under the State Government’s “Chief Minister Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2022”, the company organized programs simultaneously in all 16 districts of the area and received applications from about 18 thousand 587 consumers on the very first day itself. Certificates have been distributed after waiving more than 33 crore 15 lakhs. Energy Minister Tomar has appealed to the eligible domestic consumers with a load of up to one kilowatt to take advantage of the scheme by submitting an application in the prescribed format in the camps of the electricity distribution company or the nearest distribution center and “Chief Minister Electricity Bill Mein Relief Scheme-2022”. Obtain the relevant certificate.

The company has said that it will be mandatory to complete the formalities as per the provisions of the Electricity Supply Code for permanently disconnected consumers to take advantage of the scheme and to get the connection reconnected. Eligible consumers will be able to see the benefits of the scheme in the bills issued after April 1, 2022.
