An FIR has been registered against BJP leader Kirit Somaiya and his son Neil in Mumbai. The FIR registered by the Mumbai Police alleges cheating against the BJP leader and his son.
According to the police, Somaiya and his son have been booked for allegedly embezzling over Rs 57 crore in the name of INS Vikrant of the Indian Navy.
A former Indian Navy jawan lodged a complaint against the BJP leader and his son at the Trombay Police Station on Thursday. According to the complaint, between 2013 and 2014, former MP Kirit Somaiya and his son Neil had taken money from civilians for the repair of INS Vikrant. The complainant alleged that he did not deposit the money in the government account.
The official said that no summons has been issued in this regard so far. We will ask for their bank account details to probe the allegations.
Significantly, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had on Wednesday alleged that Somaiya had committed a scam of Rs 57 crore in the name of raising funds for INS Vikrant.
Raut alleged that Somaiya was supposed to deposit the money with the Governor of Maharashtra, but when he sought information from the Raj Bhavan, he did not get any information about the money. Kirit Somaiya has used this money to expand his business and invest in his son’s construction company.
In this regard, Shiv Sena MP tweeted on Thursday that Somaiya and his son, who cheated the people of the country by depositing crores of rupees in the name of INS Vikrant, will have to go to jail. Kirit Somaiya is the traitor of Maharashtra, now he has also proved to be a traitor. People should not remain silent now, but should seek answers from BJP, which makes fun of national sentiment.
