Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with the local police and CRPF personnel on Thursday conducted raids at several places in the Kashmir Valley in connection with a case of terrorism. Sources said that most of the places where the NIA raided were in Srinagar, some in Budgam and other areas of the Valley.

In Srinagar, NIA team along with Srinagar police raided the residence of Arsalan Firoz Ahanger, son of Jaldagar resident Firoz Ahmed Ahanger, who is already in NIA custody since December. The agency also raided the house of Aijaz Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Samad Dar, a resident of Mustafabad Zainkot area on the outskirts of Srinagar.

The NIA along with the police raided the house of Sameer Ahmed Gani, son of Mohammad Yakub, a resident of Bonapora Nowgam on the outskirts of Srinagar, a salesman by profession and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, a retired government employee of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Alnoor Colony. Chanapora and started a thorough search.

In the Bank Colony Baaghi Mehtab in Srinagar city, the NIA searched the house of Zaheer Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmed Bhat, associated with the shawl business. Simultaneous raids were also conducted at Aripathan Budgam and Tulbagh Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
