Rudraprayag (Uttarakhand): Once they were called Corona Warriors and were honored for their commendable work. Now they have been left to fend for themselves. At least 42 health workers who were working as paramedics on ad-hoc basis have now been shown the door. Health workers of Madhavshram Hospital in Koteshwar, Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, are boiling and staging a sit-in as senior medical officials make statements that the protesting staff should be better engaged in grazing the cattle. Now they are threatening to intensify the agitation if their demands are not resolved.

After serving for two years during the Kovid-19 pandemic, he has now been shown the door. The protesting workers are demanding reinstatement. These paramedics were recruited during the spike in COVID-19 cases in 2020.

Some health workers who were staging a sit-in said, “We are feeling sad because of the apathy of the medical authorities. We worked tirelessly during the pandemic without taking care of ourselves. Now, health officials are asking us to go out. and graze cattle. The irresponsible statements of the officers are creating resentment among the employees.
